Speechless Sunday: Pet Friendly Manhattan

Dog and Dog Walker

A few of my 4 legged neighbors (photo shot Friday in front of my Upper West Side home)

Dog Walker Upper West Side

Photo shot a couple of years ago on West 72nd St. I've never seen that dog-walker again.

New York City is a vibrant destination for visitors and residents year-round - whether they're four-legged or two-legged. Not only are most condos and many co-ops dog friendly in Manhattan but there are dog friendly hotels, restaurants and department stores.

Mitchell, our dogs love visiting Manhattan and Central Park, on the weekends they have a blast running off lease before 9 am.

It is fun to see how many dogs these walkers can handle.  We see them (dog walkers) ocasionally on the dog beach, the maximum number has been 3.  A

Hi Bill, Thanks for visiting. Yes nice critters.

David, Handsome dogs you have. Central Park before 9am is the dogs favorite play time.

Alexandra, The second dog walker is amazing. The dogs are all off their leashes and sitting well behaved on the curb of a street with a lot of traffic. I would have the leashes all twisted.

I am astonished at how well behaved all those dogs are.  I can imagine the job of a "Dog Walker" in Manhattan would be a really fun one.

Wow, Mitchell, I can't imagine walking all those dogs at once.  Seems they would be constantly tangled!

Myrl, "Dog Walker" looks like a fun job.

Hi DeeDee, I know I would get them tangled.

Mitchell those two shots are just adorable.  I am also amazed at their behavior.

Hi Mitchell - One of the biggest issues here is how UN dog friendly Westchester can be. I've told coop boards - GET OVER IT - if you want to attract people from Manhattan and reduce that large inventory....The "NO DOG" policy is so bad that whole towns are inaccessible to dog owners on the entry level.
